Of course, CHI hair products, including their flat irons, curling irons and wavers/crimpers, are built to last - but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take a few extra steps to make sure your iron stays in excellent condition. Not only will you get the most bang for your buck that way, you’ll also make straightening your hair that much easier! Here are some tips for keeping your CHI hair styling tools in the best shape possible over the long run:

• Always unplug your flat iron after you’ve finished using it! This is a safety hazard, in addition to potentially damaging the iron
• Allow the iron to cool before putting it away
• Remove buildup on a regular basis; the best way to do this is to use a soft, non-abrasive cloth to wipe down the plates, but if you’re dealing with a lot of buildup, you may want to try a special iron cleaning spray
• Don’t wrap the cord around the iron when you put it away
